Firefighters have been called to two fires off Picton Drive, Handforth this afternoon - both of which are thought to have been started deliberately.

One fire engine from Wilmslow was called to the first incident at 1.15 pm today (Wednesday 16th April).

Handheld extinguishers were used to put out a fire involving a small amount of rubbish.

Then two hours later firefighters were called to the scene of a grassland fire at Picton Drive, covering an area measuring approximately one metre by eight metres. The crew used a hose reel jet to put out the fire. They suspect this fire was also ignited deliberately.

Anyone with any information regarding these incidents is asked to call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or Cheshire Police on 101.
