Wilmslow Spring Clean underway

This year the Town Council is working in association with Wilmslow Clean Team during Spring Clean week to help tidy-up areas of the town.

The first public event on Tuesday, 1st April, saw volunteers from the Clean Team, the Town Council and TSB Bank assemble in Sainsbury's Car Park to collect the necessary equipment before heading out to pick litter in and around the Sainsbury's Car Park, Chapel Lane, Alderley Road and the Moor Lane junction with Chapel Lane. The volunteers picked a large number of bags of litter and amongst the other items collected were a shopping basket, a car bumper, a football, a large number of Match Attack cards and a circuit board.

Rev Paul Smith also led a team picking litter in and around the Wilmslow Parish Hall car park.

Anyone interested in getting involved in Spring Clean Week can join the next public events meeting at the Boddington Arms at 10am on either Wednesday 2nd April or Saturday 5th April. Residents are also encouraged to work in their own areas as individuals or in groups.

Alongside the public events, local groups have been involved including the 6th Wilmslow Scouts, Dean Row Guides, pupils from Wilmslow High School and the Fire Service.
