Wilmslow's new town councillor announced

election

Wilmslow Town Council has a new member to represent the Wilmslow Lacey Green Ward following yesterday's election.

The Conservative candidate Viveene Brooks won the election on Thursday, 27th March, with 61% of the vote.

She received 453 votes compared with 287 received by the Independent candidate Stuart Redgard. Turnout at the election was 21.23% and there were 4 voids.

Viveene Brooks has lived in the Lacey Green area of town for 25 years and works full time in the care of elderly and vulnerable people.

She told wilmslow.co.uk "I am very pleased to have been elected. I would like to thank the people who voted for me and and assure them that I will be there for them and listen to their problems.

"Of course living in the ward I am well aware of the issues that effect us all and I intend during my term of office to have total commitment.

"I could not have been successful without my agent Ruth McNulty and a lot of people who gave up their time every day to help me with my campaign."

Stuart Redgard said "Congratulations to Councillor Brooks, I wish you well. And thank you to all of the people of the ward who exercised their right to vote."

Well done Viveen - please can we have some contact details? Perhaps we can have a focus on dog fouling around Lacey Green. I walk with my children every day to Lacey Green Primary Academy and we have to be on 'poo watch' to look out for the piles of muck which hasn't been picked up. This is dirty and totally irresponsible.
