Pupils across Wilmslow and the surrounding area, are being invited to take part in the annual competitions at The Wilmslow Show.

There are four categories in the Horticultural Competitions to enter; cookery, handicraft, natural history and painting, where children enter independently of their school for personal cash prizes.

Each of their winning entries will also be collated as points towards The Macclesfield Arts Cup, which is awarded to the school gaining the most points gained by their pupils, across the four categories.

One of last year's entrants, 7 year old Amy Yates, said "It was really nice to see my work on show, I couldn't wait to see whether I had won and I have kept all of my certificates."

Schools from across Wilmslow have already received their invites to create an exhibition of artwork produced in school by the pupils, and displayed by the teachers in The Horticultural Marquee, on the day of The Wilmslow Show. Judging takes place on the morning of the show and the winning exhibit will receive The Altrincham Shied.

Dean Oaks Primary School swept the board in 2013 and went home with two trophies, both for the collation of individual entries and the judging of the whole school display.

Families can participate with the individual entries, for further information visit www.wilmslowshow.com/competitions.
