Plans for tearoom and cocktail bar approved

Planning permission has been granted to turn a former chocolate shop on Alderley Road into tearooms and a cocktail bar.

Wilmslow resident Danny Midgelow is planning to develop a traditional tearoom which will be open during the day, then in the evening it will be transformed into a candle lit cocktail bar with a 1920s theme.

If everything goes according to plan, the building work will begin within a month or two and the new premises will be open sometime during the summer.

Danny Midgelow told wilmslow.co.uk "The look and feel of the bar has been inspired by the 1920s, this is to give the bar its individuality, and its own look. Expect some Great Gatsby glamour, crystal chandeliers, candle light, and elegant furnishings."

He added "I have decided to open a bar in Wilmslow because I realise the potential, I think this is the beginning of a golden few years in Wilmslow and the surrounding areas if the right establishments begin to open in the town centre, which I think they will."

The bar will be open from 5pm to 1am on a Wednesday, 5pm to 2am on a Thursday and 5pm to 3am Friday to Saturday.

Danny, 27, is a PGA Golf Professional. He owns On The Tee Golf Academy as well as running night life brands Azibi, and The Butterfly Effect.
