Wilmslow hit by another spate of shed break-ins

Wilmslow Police have reported another spate of shed and garage break-ins across the town in February.

There were 12 actual or attempted break-ins last month, 8 of which were in the Lacey Green area of Wilmslow and for each incident a very similar method of entry was used.

A police spokesperson said "In a majority of the incidents the offenders have used bolt cutters or other implements to force their way into locked garages, shed and containers and they have stolen, motorbikes, expensive bicycles and power-tools. In some cases we have recovered the stolen items nearby but many items are still outstanding.

"If you have anything valuable in your shed or garage please ensure that it is adequately locked especially if you have an expensive bicycle as these are being targeted at the moment."

The police are asking all residents to be extra observant and if you see anyone acting suspiciously, especially during the night, they would appreciate a call to 101 or 999 in an emergency so that they can react promptly to any suspicious behaviour.

If you have any information that you would prefer to pass in confidence then you can call Crimestoppers which is a registered charity on 0800 555 111.
