Organisers have confirmed that places for the 8th Wilmslow Triathlon, which takes place on Sunday 11th May, are selling fast.

Following a record-breaking year in 2013 with 596 finishers and a strong presence from triathlon clubs across the region, the Wilmslow Triathlon continues to grow attracting novices, experienced and elite triathletes alike.

The event is based at Wilmslow Leisure Centre, the 400m swim takes place in the 5 lane 25m indoor pool and the transition area as well as the start and finish are on the cricket pitch. The picturesque, mainly flat 24.2 km cycle ride takes the competitors around the Cheshire countryside and the 6.3km run goes around East Wilmslow's leafy roads, a mostly flat route with some inclines near the River Bollin.

Event costs are £42 for individual entries or £55 for relay team entries, including numbered racking, electronic chip timing and a goody bag. The prize giving takes place after the event, with prizes awarded in the following categories: overall winners (male and female), male and female age groups, relay team prize, club prize (first 3 athletes from the same club) and novice prize.

Entries close on 7th May 2014, or when sold out. Minimum age for competitors is 16 and there is a maximum of 700 entrants for this race.
