Police have received reports of cars that appear to have been deliberately damaged whilst left parked on residential streets in the town.

PCSO Jim Newns said "There has been an increase in incidents involving vehicles being scratched that are parked on roads on residential housing estates.

"These cars are parked legally on residential roads but it looks like a vigilante may be responsible for the damage. Birch Avenue, Wilmslow has been targeted.

"People leave their cars on the road to go to work and when they come back to their vehicle it has been scratched. Police are investigating this issue and appeal for any information in relation to the criminal damage."

To report information regarding these incidents, please contact the police on 101, or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
