Family pop festival hailed a hit

Crowds were entertained by X Factor winner Matt Cardle and a full bill of supporting artists at Lindow Cricket Club for their "Live On The Square" family fun day.

The sun shone for their first music festival which attracted hundreds of people and featured performances from over 30 different acts on Saturday, 21st September.

In addition to the music, the younger visitors enjoyed fun fair rides and an appearance by Peppa Pig, whilst refreshments on offer included a VIP cocktail marquee and Pimms tent.

Speaking about the event which had been months in the planning, David Kendrick, Chairman of Lindow Cricket Club, said "Everyone who attended had a great day. Various celebrities were also seen in the grounds during the course of the day, enjoying the friendly atmosphere.

"The idea behind the event was to raise funds for charity and also the improvement of the cricket club. Hopefully after the success this year, the event can be built upon further and become an annual success down at Lindow CC."

It was a lovely afternoon and evening of entertainment- very informal and relaxed. Lucky it was sunny and warm-ish!
