Matt Cardle to headline family pop festival

X-Factor winner Matt Cardle will be perform in Wilmslow this weekend at a family pop festival.

Cardle, who rose to fame after winning the seventh series of The X Factor in December 2010, will take to the stage at Lindow Cricket Club on Saturday, 21st September, for their "Live On The Square" event.

The family fun day, presented by ImagineFM, will support the Andrew Flintoff Foundation - a children's charity raising funds to build, develop and improve child rehabilitation and physiotherapy units - as well as raising funds to improve facilities at the Club.

A full bill of supporting artists will also take to the stage, including Britain's Got Talent finalists Reconnected, Be Minor, Ever Young, Wilmslow Rock Choir, local talent Ewan Sims, Forbidden Juice, Renegade Girls, Step Ahead Dance, Click 22, Sam Burrows and The Debut Dancers.

Celebrity TV and sports star are expected to make an appearance, along with Peppa Pig, and there will be a VIP Pimms Marquee along with children's fairground, markets, sports challenges and a selection of food and drink stalls.

David Kendrick, Chairman of Lindow Cricket Club, said "As Lindow is a club run by volunteers and relies on fundraising each year to keep the doors open and also to assist with the development of junior cricket we decided to hold a family fun day and music festival in an attempt to raise some money to assist for next season and also for charity.

"Money raised will go towards improving the facilities at Lindow including the astro wicket surface, improved junior equipment and square covers."
