Which comedian thinks closing parts of the A34 for what ever reason is a good idea? Obviously the people involved in such stupidity don’t live around here or have to use the road on a daily basis. Besides which, has anybody seen any problems with that stretch of road? I certainly haven’t. I’d like to know exactly where and why the road requires resurfacing. Who has taken this ridiculous decision?

This happens everytime kiddies are on school holidays, just when we can get to work quicker.

It hasn't exactly lasted very long has it, needing resurfacing already, seems alright to me everytime I drive along.

The road seems very good not seen any Pot hole's but there are plenty around the area maybe they should deal with the local roads rather than tidying up this stretch of road.It always seems to happen prior to a visit from a prominent Dignitary we seem to have it Swept clean and new white line's and then you hear that a Royal or a PM or some high ranking person has to drive along the road and it looks all nice and Northern :)

I live on Dean Row Road. About two years ago someone (I would dearly like to know who?)
decided to spend a fortune of money putting a traffic light controlled crossing, I personally estimate the cost would in the region of £350,000 + !!! in that time I have only seen three people actually use it. Then this year at the same place where the new houses are being built (The Oaks) residents endured for 7 weeks!!!! temporary lights down to one lane, who in the council allowed this !!!? Now the crossing has been reinstated at more cost to us no doubt for the three people to use it over the next three years. I am tried of hearing councils telling us how short of money they are..

I drove up the by pass like i do every morning but paid special attention today at the road surface, seemed more than fine to me, in fact the m60 is in way worse a state. Three ideas, 1 why cant they keep one carriage way open to minimise the distrupion, and heres a really crazy idea 2, have a contra flow system going on ( i bet 'elf and safty would have kittens with that idea!!) or 3 and this is really radical, why not spend the £100,000's on the surrounding a and b roads that are a disgrace and fix them properly first, because they actually need it!

Having read all the above comments, which are true to the point, has it not occured to anyone yet that it seems to be that all the officers are deskbound, and therefore no visited the area.
Also it seems that the officers in charge run the Councillors.
Another point, has it been disclosed if the Lyme Green lot, who "resigned" had a gagging order placed on them, as we do not know how many councillors were involved.
