Following last year's cancellation, due to dreadful weather, the Wilmslow Show is back and organisers have some fantastic surprises planned in addition to lots of old favourites.

Amongst the highlights this year will be the final of the Rotary scarecrow competition and a flying display which will be performed over the grounds by the RAF. The ever popular fun dog show will be taking place again and there will be entertainment in the arena throughout the afternoon, including a falconry display and the much loved dog and duck.

This year there will also be displays from the Flaherty Cowboys, Jemma Leopold with a dressage display and a wild animal centre. The Bourbon Street Jazz Band, Hazel Grove Brass Band, Pantonic Steel Band and Rode Hall Brass Band will all be performing, so there will be lots of music for everyone.

The classic car show will feature over 300 cars and the horticultural marquee will be packed with entries to all the competitions. Last but not least, the food and craft marquee will be filled with some really unusual and award winning artisan producers.

This year marks the 101st show and to make sure it goes ahead the organisers are bringing forward the erection of the marquees to the Thursday before the show.

Chairman Frank McCarthy said "The organising committee has been able to hold the ticket prices at £5 for adults, £2.50 concessions and £12 family ticket for the seventh year running due to the increased attendance and the very valuable sponsorship of events. This year's RAF flight display has been sponsored by the Wilmslow Town Council which has been so supportive of the show.

"From toddlers to grandma, there is fun for the whole family, and this year sees many new attractions ranging from the Jemma Leopold horse dressage show to a 1970's BBC TV outside broadcast 'Scanner."

The show will be held on Sunday 14th July on the sports field at Wilmslow High School from 11am until 5pm. In order to speed up the entrance to the field, there will be an increased number of pay booths and for the disabled there will be a dedicated entrance and car park.

A shuttle bus will also be running from Broadway Meadow to the show on the day and there is free parking on Broadway Meadow.
