Wilmslow Town Council will be taking one of the community stalls at this weekend's Artisan Market, providing visitors the opportunity to speak face to face with their councillors about local issues.

Keith Purdom, who was recently appointed Chairman of the Wilmslow Town Council (WTC), will be manning the stall alongside his colleagues.

Cllr Purdom explained "My theme for the next year is 'greater engagement' and the idea of talking a complimentary community stall at the Artisan market came from an idea Cllr Martin Watkins and I developed in support of this aim. We announced it as an experiment at the last WTC meeting and we are grateful that we have other councillors volunteering to 'work the stall' on Saturday. In fact our former leader Cllr Crockett is doing the first shift along with Cllr Jo Milnes."

He added "We will be available to listen to whatever residents like to talk about - be it housing or potholes, the town centre or litter. It is an opportunity to promote the Party in the Park this Sunday 16th and to hand out Lindow Common brochures that explain more about what this SSSI (Site of Special Scientific Interest) is all about."

Loose Change buskers, who have now raised in excess of £68,000 for Cancer Research this year, will also be at the Artisan Market this Saturday, the market runs from 10am to 4pm.

Wilmslow Town Council will also be at the July Artisan Market.
