Family pays tribute to motorcyclist killed in crash on A34 bypass

Bradley McLEOD

A 27-year-old motorcyclist was killed in a crash on the A34 Handforth bypass over the bank holiday weekend.

Tragic news.

All that knew Brad are in pain right now; not least his family & close friends, especially Mike, Lucy & Antony.

Brad was first introduced to us when he was 17 or so by my son Antony; since then he has been a regular visitor & helped us around the house whenever asked.

Brad had given us regular updates with regard to his motorcycle training & we talked at length about buying & riding his first bike.

I waved Brad & Antony away on Saturday morning & watched them ride until out of sight. The sun was shining; the bike gleaming & Brad looked proud as a peacock!

As a fellow motorcyclist I cannot help but try to piece together the events leading to the accident; we may never know for certain, but it offers some comfort to have seen Brad looking so fine & happy just a short time before....

Our most heartfelt condolances to all who shared his life.

We have known Bradley since he left school and started work with Nige.

He was a welcome visitor at our house and helped us immensely when we were working on our extension at home. More recently his visits were mainly talking about bikes, helmets, leathers......as this was his latest passion and One of Nige's too.

Nige, Antony, Mike and Bradley all left our house on Friday evening for a ride, Bradley grinning from ear to ear and this is the lasting memory I will keep of him.

Bradley gave everything in life 110% and was passionate about everything he did, he was definitely a one off and had a sense of humour which no one will ever match, or even come close too!

He will be missed by so many people and has certainly left a huge hole in our hearts.

I never met Bradley, but I know his mum and dad and know that they will be devastated by this terrible accident. My thoughts go out to them and all who knew Bradley.

Going to miss Bradley more than words can ever explain.

I met Bradley nearly 4 years ago now, and ever since we were good friends and built a strong relationship more and more everyday, and I would call him one of my best friends. He was one in a million and would never find any guy like him in the world. He was honest and caring and full of love with a one of a kind sense of humor which we al loved him for.

Being there with him on Saturday was something no person should ever have to see, never mind his best friends. He was so happy and proud as punch with his bike and he wouldn't have changed anything for the world that day, it was beaming sun, on his prize possession and with his best friends, with a massive smile on his face as he stopped at the lights as he spoke to mike. I take great comfort in that and anyone who reads or hears his final hours should do aswell.

He will never ever ever , for as long as I live be forgotten by anyone, and that's one thing in life I can be sure on. He will always be in my heart and be in my mind every day, till the day I can go and be with him again. He's looking down on all of us and keeping us all safe.

I love you Bradley McLeod, I'm so glad I had the opportunity to be close to your heart.
Miss you every single day without fail
