Wilmslow Round Table held their annual Senior Citizens Party at Honford Hall, Handforth on Saturday 13th April.

One hundred pensioners were bussed in from the local area for a full evenings entertainment, provided by Julie Scott and Paul Squire, complemented by sherry, sandwiches, cakes and tea.

The evening was also used to present Nicky Downs, from the David Lewis Centre with a cheque for £7,500, which will used to help fund a new mini bus for the centre that works with children and adults with learning difficulties.

Stephen explained that this year had been a very successful year for fundraising within Wilmslow Round Table with a very well attended Bonfire and generous donations to our Sleigh collections in the run up to Christmas.

He said "Wilmslow Round Table are keen for the people of Wilmslow to see how we distribute the money they have helped us to raise and we believed that supporting the fantastic work done by the David Lewis Centre was a very worthy cause. So far this year Wilmslow Round Table have donated over £15,000 to local charities, groups and good causes."

Apart from charity fundraising, Wilmslow Round Table also has an active and varied programme of social events, which in the latest year has included go-karting, brewery visit, comedy night and indoor climbing wall.

Wilmslow Round Table always welcomes potential new members.

Stephen said "If you are male, aged 18 to 45, like the sound of what Wilmslow Round Table are doing and fancy joining us for an evening to see what we are about, we'd be happy to welcome you along. We meet every second and fourth Thursday in Wilmslow."
