Planning permission has been granted for a change of use from restaurant to bar at 52 Parsonage Green.

This will enable the town centre premises, which was previously occupied by La Tasca restaurant, to be turned into a sports bar.

Three letters of objection were received, raising concerns that it will become a 'drinking hole' resulting in trouble and anti social behaviour.

However, the officer's report states "The proposed use will bring back into use a prominent unit within Wilmslow Town Centre. It is also hoped that an A4 use in this location as with the existing A3 use will assist in ensuring the viability and vitality of the Town Centre by encouraging footfall to this particular area.

"The site is located within an easily accessible location, therefore the principle of this development is considered to be acceptable."

Work has started to get the bar ready, though no external alterations to the building will be made. Bar Sport is expected to open in early May.

The hours of operation of the business will be limited to 07:30 to 24:00 hours on Monday to Friday, 07:30 to 02:00 on Saturday and 07:30 to 24:00 on Sundays or Public Holidays.

Any deliveries and collections made to this site will be restricted to between 8am and 5pm Mondays to Saturdays and no waste, including bottles, can be taken outside of the property after 10pm on any night.
