The Wilmslow Wells “Souperday,” held on February 21, raised over £1,200 for the charity, which provides African villages with urgently-needed clean water supplies.

A “Sing Song” event held earlier in the month also brought in £610.

The charity’s chairman, Helen Battilana, said: “I am delighted because this money will help more people in dire need in Africa - more than 99 per cent of all funds we raise goes direct into clean water projects, including the provision of new wells.”
