Vintage fundraiser to support Borneo expedition

A group of forty A-Level students are organising a Vintage Fair at Wilmslow High School to raise money for their charitable expedition to Borneo.

A wide variety of products, including clothing, jewellery, home-wares and furniture, from the 1900 to the 1980's will be available from Vintage style shops which will be set up in the Sports Hall at Wilmslow High School. There will also be refreshments available and some vintage style music.

The fair is the students latest fundraising event as each member of the expedition has to raise around £4000 for the trip.

Elliot Green said "We are organising the fair as we believed it would be an interesting and original fundraising idea, there is only so many cake sales that you can do after all. Plus it was something that neither me or my friend Ledicia had had any idea about so it is a challenge, but thoroughly enjoyable to organise.

"Personally I have raised about £1700 I think but others are at very different stages in the raising of their money. We have previously organised a Quiz Night, a few bake sales of course and a games stall."

By attending the event you will be helping the students to raise money for the High School's charitable expedition this summer. The aim of the expedition is to fly to Borneo where they will be participate in a variety of charitable activities designed to help the local communities and environment.

Activities will include tree planting, interaction with the local people and the big challenge, helping to construct a community centre in one of the villages.

The Borneo Vintage Fair is being held on Sunday 24th March at Wilmslow High School from 11am to 5pm. Entry is £3.50 per person.

If you are a shop owner selling products that fit the vintage genre then the students would like you to come along and sell. They will be able to provide tables, chairs and refreshments for the small charge of £15 per stall. If you are interested in having a stall you can contact the students by completing the online form.
