Boutique closes as two new businesses prepare to open

photo

A designer boutique has shut up shop just over 18 months after opening on Water Lane.

Lola of Wilmslow, a new venture for Sharon Ellison of Worsley, was located in the premises previously occupied by Oddbins and stocked a range of contemporary designer labels, including Donna Karan, Emillio Pucci, Matthew Williamson and Herve Leger.

There is no notice at the store announcing the closure although we understand the shop was cleared out the weekend before last.

On a more positive note a Fishmongers will be opening on Grove Street shortly and Aspect Home Cinema is preparing to open on Water Lane, in the premises previously occupied by The Aga Shop.

A fishmongers on Grove Street............do you mean a REAL shop, one that isn't part of the Nescafe Society, perhaps there is some hope for Wilmslow.

It's good to see a 'local' shop opening - let's make sure we support them!!! That's the only way these shops will survive, and hopefully encourage others to do the same.
