Wilmslow's two day Christmas Artisan Market proved a big success, attracting hundreds of local residents and visitors to the town - many of whom made multiple visits during the course of the weekend.
Over 250 artisan traders took part, offering a selection of gifts as well as festive goodies, and for the first time the market extended into the evening. As darkness fell the town centre was lit up by 700 meters of festoon lighting, making it look particularly festive.
Organisers Denise Valente and Vicky Jackson planned a full schedule of entertainment including a number of surprises.
Vicky Jackson said "The snow globe was a massive success and very much enjoyed by families. Months ago when Denise and I were brainstorming ideas for the event, I remembered a conversation with a lady who who had raved on about a snow globe she'd visited with her grandchildren in Liverpool and how they had loved it. We worked very hard to get one for Wilmslow, and were delighted that it was really loved by the local children as we had hoped it would be."
Once again Loose Change Buskers did a fantastic job entertaining the crowds on Bank Square. Over 15 musicians got involved, giving their time for free to sing classics songs and Christmas hits, whilst collecting donations for Cancer Research.
Acclaimed Tenor Alexander Wall also delighted the shoppers on Sunday when he performed on Grove Street and Santa and his elf made an appearance much to the enjoyment of the little ones.
Vicky added "It was a truly magnificent weekend and Denise and I feel very privileged to help put this event on for our home town. We are both very much looking forward to 2013, and ensuring the Artisan is the best event it can be for Wilmslow."
