An extra special Artisan Market is coming to Handforth this weekend to provide a fun and festive shopping experience.

Over 40 stalls will be located at The Paddock on Saturday, 8th December, from 10am to 4pm. The market will feature many local artisans, as well as goods sourced from further afield - providing an opportunity for local residents to stock up on speciality treats, gifts, festive food and drink.

To provide an extra Christmas sparkle, choirs will be singing Christmas carols and there will be festive entertainment and workshops throughout the day.

Alderley District Scout Band will be playing from 11am to 12noon, Aspinall Academy of Dance will demonstrate musical theatre and street dance from 12.30pm to 1pm. They will be followed by St. Benedict's Junior Choir who will sing carols from 1pm to 1.45pm and the Handforth Junior Jazz Band will entertain shoppers from 2pm to 3pm.

Handforth Parish Council will also be running a stall offering children the opportunity to enter a decorate a Christmas bauble competition.

Organiser Vicky Jackson said "As a Handforth resident I am very excited about this festive event for the village. Not only do we have over 40 of the very finest festive stalls, there is a full day of music and entertainment planned, train rides in Meriton park and a children's decoration competition.

"The last two Handforth Artisan markets have been really well supported and a great success, and this event is set to be the best one yet."

A special two day Artisan Market will be held in Wilmslow on Saturday 15th and Sunday 16th December, more details will be published next week.

How lovely to have such a market organised in the paddock, which normally lacks all atmosphere. I will certain,y be there to support it
