Wilmslow CC 1st XI 58 for 3 beat Heaton Mersey Village 1st XI 56 all out.

Opening bowler Toby Rowe gave Wilmslow Cricket Club just the kind of performance they are looking for, in their search for a title. The Rectory Field outfit now have a 15 point lead at the top of the table, over local rivals Wayfarers with just two games to go.

Rowe finished with the spectacular figures of 6 for 8 as he tore into the HMV top order. Skipper Jay Patel with 3 and leading wicket taker Narayaran with one, took care of the rest. In reply, Wilmslow lost both Herriot and E Rowe cheaply, but some lusty blows from Dixon and Lees saw the leaders home.

The 2nd XI were away at Chester Asians. Although they lost, Wilmslow's youngsters gave the league leaders a good game. Pick of the bowlers were Ed Hart with 5 for 50 and Chris Arnot with 4 for 40. Restricting the Asians prolific batsmen to just 150 is no mean feat. Unfortunately only Metzelaar (37) got in, as the visitors were bowled out for 90.
