Can you help local Rainbow Unit?

7th Wilmslow Rainbows are a thriving member of the local Girlguiding community but currently need new adult volunteers to help run the Unit from September.

They are a group for girls aged 5-7, and meet for an hour on Tuesdays after school in the Methodist Church Halls, off Water Lane in Wilmslow.

Girls have the opportunity to use their initiative, acquire new skills, and grow in confidence in a safe, girl-only space. They can take part in a wide range of activities, such as arts and craft, games, sport, drama and dance – motivated by the traditional Guiding ethos and values. There can also be visits and outings – 7th Wilmslow have been to the local firestation, ‘balsam bashing’ by the River Bollin, and tried their hand at crown green bowling, to name but a few. Most recently, they had a very enjoyable chocolate-making workshop with Oliver Dunn from Chocofrolics (see photo).

Girlguiding UK is a hugely popular organisation, with more than half a million members and volunteers around the UK. Helping to run the group is great fun and a very rewarding and satisfying experience, as well as being an asset on any CV. If you are able to help in any way, please call 07817 615804 or 01625 520553 asap.
