Lindow sees off its Three Peaks Challenge “heroes”

3 Peaks1

This afternoon, in driving rain, partners, children and friends bid goodbye to intrepid parents and teachers setting off on the National Three Peaks Challenge.

The walkers are attempting the self-funded endurance task of climbing the highest mountain in Scotland, England and Wales in just 24 hours to raise money for their primary school.

Starting tomorrow afternoon they hope to scale Ben Nevis then drive to Scafell Pike for Sunday morning’s climb then on to Mount Snowdon to complete the challenge on Sunday afternoon.

The Lindow team will be meeting up with teams from Ashdene and Gorsey Bank to raise money for worthy causes.

You can sponsor the parents and donate money to the schools and their chosen charities by visiting their fundraising pages: Lindow School has a fundraising page at MyDonate; Ashdene has set up a Virgin Giving page; Gorsey Bank has a JustGiving fundraising page.

Let’s hope the weather is kinder to the walkers than we’re experiencing here in Wilmslow!
