Plans are well underway for another monthly market in Wilmslow.

Wilmslow resident and charity fundraiser Khumi Burton is organising the family-friendly market which will be held at Wilmslow Garden Centre.

The first market will be on Sunday 10th June from 11am until 4pm, with up to 36 stalls.

In addition to the stalls Khumi is hoping to have a bouncy castle, children's ride, face painting or some entertainers at each market to caters for the children.

Khumi said "Wilmslow Garden Centre has had a terrible year with the fire. Over the years, whatever hat I wear, they have always been supportive of me by allowing me to do a bucket collection or providing me with raffle prizes for various charities. This is my way of saying thank you and if this brings in a bit of footfall for them I am repaying them for their kindness and support."

Khumi also has a personal reason for organising the market as she wants to raise money and awareness of Combat Street who have drop-in centres around the country where veterans and families can go and talk and receive support.

She explained "The money charged to stall holders will be used to get banners done and pay off overheads, then my share of the money on the day will be donated to Combat Stress. Combat Stress is my husband's charity and as he has allowed me over the years to do things .. it is my pay back time."

She added "This will be an opportunity for charities and voluntary organisation to come, a different one each month and be seen. Whatever money the charity collect will be theirs to keep. So those interested please contact me."
