Results of the 2012 Wilmslow Half Marathon

The winner of the 28th ASICS Wilmslow Half Marathon, which took place in very warm conditions this morning, was Antony Ford of Sale Harriers with a winning time of 64 minutes and 54 seconds.

Antony finished over two minutes ahead of Tomas Abyu of Salford Harriers who completed the 13.1 mile course in a time of 67 minutes and 9 seconds. He was closely followed by Gareth Raven of Sale Harriers in 67 minutes and 17 seconds.

Rob Downs was the first person to complete the half marathon from Wilmslow Running Club, finishing in 22nd place in a time of 73 minutes and 18 seconds.

Catherine Ansell of Herne Hill Harriers won the women's race, recording a time of 76 minutes 53 seconds. Rosalind Keiran, her teammate from Herne Hill Harriers, was second in a time of 76 minutes and 53 seconds and the third women to complete the course was Olivia Walwyn-Bush from City of Norwich AC in 77 minutes 51 seconds.

The 2012 Wilmslow Half Marathon incorporated the England Half Marathon Championships for the 4th consecutive year and attracted some of the country's elite runners alongside thousands of locals.

4091 runners set off from Wilmslow Rugby Club, many of whom pounded the streets of Mobberley and Wilmslow to raise money for their chosen charity.

The official charity for the 2012 Wilmslow Half Marathon is David Lewis, which is dedicated to improving the life experiences of people with complex epilepsy, autism, learning and physical disabilities.
