Wilmslow residents will have the opportunity to showcase their talents when a new competition takes place this month.

Steve Wainman, who works at Sainsbury's, is organising Wilmslow's Got Talent to raise funds for the supermarket's chosen charity, JJ's Sensory Centre in Macclesfield.

The money raised will also go to Combat Stress, the veterans' mental health charity.

Heats will take place during January, the acts will then be whittled down to the most talented for the semi-finals and then the grand final which will be held at the Royal British Legion on Grove Avenue.

Steve said "We are look for a variety of acts from singers to dancers and musicians to comedians. Everyone is welcome, the more the merrier."

Anyone interested in taking part in Wilmslow's Got Talent should email Steve Wainman or call him on 07598 768413.
