Two houses on Longmeade Gardens were targeted by burglars over the weekend.

Some time between 11.30 pm on Friday 2nd December and 9.30 on Saturday morning offenders used an unknown implement to reach through the front letter box of a detached property in Longmeade Gardens.

They removed house and vehicle keys from the stairs and using the key the offenders entered the property and stole a purse and handbag. Leaving the handbag behind outside the property they made their escape in the owner's vehicle which was parked on the driveway.

During the same overnight period offenders broke into a second property on Longmeade Gardens. At 1am they approached a detached house in the cul-de-sac and entered the property via an insecure front door. Having made a tidy search of the sitting room and kitchen, they stole a number of items including car keys and spare keys for the house. The offenders made off in an unknown direction in the owner's vehicle.

An attempted burglary also occurred at 4am on Saturday morning when offenders approached a terraced dwelling in Snapebrook Grove. Using a blunt instrument they forced open the rear kitchen window and smashed the glass, but failed to gain entry.

A third house in Handforth was also burgled over the weekend. Offenders approached a detached property in a quiet cul-de-sac between 10.10pm on Saturday 3rd December and 8.30 the following morning.

They gained entry to the house on Grangeway via an insecure downstairs window and once inside they stole a wallet, keys and two pushbikes from the integral garage. Using the keys they unlocked the rear kitchen door and escaped in a stolen vehicle.

It is unknown at this moment in time if these burglaries are connected. Anyone with information about them should contact Cheshire Police on 0845 458 0000 or pass information anonymously using the Crimestoppers number - 0800 555 111.
