Martin Bell OBE will be giving a talk and signing copies of his latest book at Waterstones this week.

The former MP for Tatton has been many things - a BBC war reporter, Britain's first independent MP for 50 years, a UNICEF ambassador, and 'the man in the white suit' who campaigned for honesty and accountability in politics.

As his new book reveals, Martin Bell OBE is also a poet of light verse and his poems continue his war by other means on duplicitous politicians, our all-consuming media, the venality of celebrity culture and much more.

Bell presents poems on Tony Blair and Iraq, on Radovan Karadzic, the Serbian war criminal whom he met on trial in the Hague, on his hero, Reuters reporter Kurt Schork, killed on assignment in Sierra Leone, and colourful episodes from his work and life.

Martin Bell will be talking about, and signing copies of, 'For Whom the Bell Tolls' at Waterstones in Wilmslow from 7pm to 9pm on Wednesday 7th December. This a ticketed event, tickets are £3 each, which will be discounted off the price of the book.
