New cafe to enjoy at your leisure

A revamped cafe has recently opened up selling light refreshments to users of Wilmslow Leisure Centre.

Catering company The Pickle Jar, which has already teamed up with Cheshire East Council with the cafe at Queens Park in Crewe, has taken up residence in the leisure centre.

Cheshire East Mayor Councillor Roger West and Councillor Rod Menlove were on hand to officially open the cafe, named 'The Pickle Jar at Leisure', on Friday, November 18th.

Councillor Rod Menlove, Cabinet member with responsibility for environmental services, said: "In Cheshire East, we aim to improve life opportunities and health and providing top class facilities is a part of that.

"It is the perfect place to socialise and relax after a good workout and I do hope users and residents enjoy using these cafes for years to come."

The Pickle Jar has built its reputation by working in partnership with local authorities for the past four years. It is developing new menus and ideas and can offer buffets, children's parties and healthy options.

Much to my delight Wi-Fi is also now available in the cafe which means I can get some of my work done whilst waiting for my daughters to finish their classes.

Over the festive season The Pickle Jar will be running a series of Carols in the Leisure Centre with several local primary schools coming in to sing in the lobby and in the cafe.
