Wilmslow honours the fallen

Remembrance Sunday was marked in Wilmslow today with a parade and church service in memory of those who have lost their lives while serving their country.

Organised by the British Legion the parade departed from the British Legion Club on Grove Avenue and marched down Grove Street to St Bartholomew's Church for the Remembrance Service.

The parade, led by the Alderley District Scout Band, included police officers, local councillors, army cadets, air cadets, scouts, cubs, beavers, guides, brownies and rainbows.

Following the remembrance service, a two minute silence and wreath laying ceremony was held at the War Memorial on Chancel Lane before the parade marches back to the British Legion where refreshments were served.
