David Anthony celebrated the opening of his Wilmslow salon in style this week.

David, who grew up in Styal, is a former Wilmslow High School student and worked as Manager at Terence Paul in Wilmslow before opening his own salon in his home village.

Speaking about relocating his salon from Styal, David told me "It was a big ambition of mine to come back to Wilmslow", where he has created an open and contemporary salon on Hawthorn Lane.

The launch party was a glamorous affair on Thursday, 27th October, with cocktails and champagne flowing all evening and canapés provided by Barinder Restaurant.

A raffle, with a generous selection of prices donated by local businesses, was held in aid of Sir Alex Ferguson's Grandson, Charlie's charity –Lovern Foundation. Brave Charlie was involved in a horrific car crash in May 2009, when in hospital he recognised that children didn't have the comforts they might have at home, like toys, games or DVD's so with his mother Nadine he set up the charity to help critically ill children.

Shirley Cole, wife of former united player Andrew, Martin Edwards and Nadine Ferguson were among the guests who supported David Anthony at the event, organised by Party Planners, Gin & Jag.

David said: "I have been totally overwhelmed by the support from colleagues, friends and family and I would like to thank them all.

"It has been a fantastic start for the salon and I can't thank people enough."

David has employed five members of staff so far and he is looking to create further jobs as he is currently recruiting for several more stylists, more apprentices and a receptionist.
