Man conned out of £4000 at Wilmslow car boot sale

A 43-year old man has been conned out of thousands of pounds at a Wilmslow car boot sale.

The man from Manchester paid just short of £4000 for computer equipment and laptops at the boot sale on Prestbury Road on Sunday.

The offender then offered to carry the purchased goods to the victim's car, but the man later discovered the computers were not in the box.

He phoned the offender who said he'd return the money in the next five minutes, but he didn't and then stopped answering the phone.

Police are investigating this incident which occurred at 10am on Sunday, 23rd October.
