A Wilmslow based catering company is delighted to have been awarded the catering contract at Lacey Green Primary Academy.

School Food Company will take over the running of the Academy's catering operation from 1st November 2011.

The company was formed in 2007 by former dinner lady Anya Murray and her husband Colin with the help and support of friends, colleagues, local producers and suppliers.

Anya Murray, Operations Manager, said "We are passionate about good quality school food and have worked tirelessly, over the past five years, to provide locally sourced and organic food within their school lunch menus.

"2011 has definitely been a good year for us; we have won two new catering contracts and have also been presented with the Soil Association's Silver Catering Mark. We are absolutely delighted to have won this prestigious contract at Lacey Green Primary Academy and the School Food Company team cannot wait to get started.

"This is also great news for our local suppliers as 40p out of every £1 we spend on ingredients goes straight back in to our local economy."

Lacey Green Academy now joins School Food Company's other clients Gorsey Bank Primary School and St. Mary's R.C. Primary School in Congleton and will enjoy seasonal school lunch menus accredited by the Soil Association, along with a break time snack provision featuring homemade soup, toast and hot chocolate for the cold winter months.
