Wilmslow Local Area Partnership (LAP) are inviting local residents to a meeting at Wilmslow Station next week.

One of the projects the LAP are working on is looking at ways to improve the gateway to the town and they are inviting users of the station to share their experiences of Wilmslow Railway Station.

LAP members and Friends of the Railway Station will be available to talk to at Wilmslow Station from 2pm to 6pm on Tuesday 1st November.

LAP Manager Richard Christopherson said "Volunteers have done a lot of work to get the station cleared up and we are looking at setting up a Friends of the Station group to get local people involved in ways to improve it.

A programme for the day is currently being pulled together. Organisers are hoping to have a demonstration to clean part of the bridge outside the station and will be launching the Friends of Wilmslow Station group.

Representatives from Network Rail will also be there to engage with passengers about the work they are doing at the station and to receive feedback, and information will be provided on the work completed to date by the LAP sub group.

Richard Christopherson added "Help us improve the environment and future direction of travel by feeding in your thoughts, ideas and suggestions."

Stop people smoking directly in front of the entrance would be a good start to improving the look of the station.
