A portrait by a young Wilmslow artist will be showcased at a top London gallery.

The President of the Royal Society of British Artists (RBA) has chosen an untitled Portrait by Dominic Morgan, a Year 13 student at Wilmslow High School, to exhibit at the RBA's 2012 show. It will be shown as a 10 x 8 reproduction.

RBA had a challenge selecting work for next year's show as 54 societies submitted 310 artworks from 83 schools. The exhibition will take place at the Mall Galleries in London where 41 works will be hung and another 17 will be displayed as 10 x 8 inch reproductions.

Dominic Morgan, 17, along with his family and art teachers will shortly receive invitations to the RBA's Private View to be held on Tuesday 28th February 2012.

Claire Bennett, Team Leader Art at Wilmslow High School, said "The art team are absolutely delighted with Dominic's achievement and are so very proud and pleased that his work is to be exhibited in the RBA show in London.

"The 'portraits' project for all of our Year 12 students has challenged their observational and technical skills; really stretching their understanding and capabilities. Dominic's piece in particular is a great success, a mature and sophisticated response, exemplifying his creative ability and talent."
