Shop Doctor to offer free business advice

An independent retail consultant will bring his wealth of experience to Handforth later this month.

Bill Smith, known as the 'Shop Doctor', has joined forces with Cheshire East Council to offer a masterclass to local retailers.

Local businesses of all shapes and sizes are invited to the event on September 27th, which will be held in the Cheshire Suite at the Pinewood Hotel on Wilmslow Road, Handforth from 6.30pm to 9.30pm.

Bill Smith will give a presentation, explaining how to increase customer spend, enhance the visual impact of a business, maximise the use of space and improve profits.

The 'Shop Doctor' event is free to all local, independent businesses and Bill also offers free one-to-one consultation to businesses by visiting them at their premises.

Cheshire East Councillor Jamie Macrae, Cabinet member with responsibility for prosperity, said: "These events have proved very popular with local businesses across Cheshire East. The Shop Doctor offers free, impartial advice to anyone running a local independent business – a valuable commodity in the current economic climate.

"These events also create opportunities for local retailers to interact, discuss ideas and compare experiences."

Places are limited and will be on a first-come, first-served basis, so book early to avoid disappointment by emailing Jacqueline Wilson, Business Engagement Co-ordinator at Cheshire East Council, or calling 01270 685911.
