Fun day to mark Wilmslow Leisure Centre's 30th birthday

Wilmslow Leisure Centre will be 30 years old next month and to mark the occasion a charity fun day is being organised.

An 80's themed fitness fun day will take place on Sunday, 4th September, with plenty of activities for all ages including funky 80's aerobics, 80's inspired Zumba and retro circuits.

For the children there will be two roller discos and swimming will be just £1 for the day, as it was when the leisure centre first opened.

All proceeds will go to Francis House, Macmillan Cancer Support and Claire House Hospice who will be sending Claire bear to visit.

The day will be 1980's fancy dress for both adults and children with prizes awarded for the best costumes on the day.

Lyndsey Walters, Health and Wellbeing Advisor at Wilmslow Leisure Centre, said "We have decided to do this event in aid of our birthday. As Wilmslow Leisure Centre was built to give the local community the chance to participate and enjoy many different activities in a clean and safe environment, with our event we wish to give the community the chance to give back to the local areas, by supporting local charities in a fun and unique way, and what better then an 1980's Fitness Fun day, as we were born in the 80's after all."

The Fun day will be run from 10am until 5pm on Sunday 4th September.

The roller discos will be £4.00 a session, including skates, and other activities are £5.00: Funky 80's aerobics, 10.00 till 11.30, 80's inspired Zumba, 11.30 till 13.00, and Retro circuits 13.00 till 15.00.
