Having been informed yesterday that the B5085 Mobberley Road would be closed for up to 4 weeks, due to a collapsed sewer, we are delighted to confirm it has been re-opened!
United Utilities worked over night to plane out and resurface large areas of carriageway affected by the water surcharge yesterday to enable the road to be reopened to traffic this morning.
United Utilities are holding a meeting today to plan what works are required to resolve the problem and we will let you know once we have received notification of their proposals.
The road was closed yesterday following a collision involving a Connect 88 bus which was travelling from Knutsford to Wilmslow when it left the road and collided with a hedge.
The driver and his eleven passengers all sustained minor injuries and were taken to Macclesfield General Hospital.
