Ryanair's new Manchester base to create 2000 jobs

Ryanair announced today that it will open its 45th base at Manchester Airport creating up to 2000 jobs.

Chief executive Michael O'Leary visited Manchester airport today to announce the company's plan for two aircraft to be based at Manchester, serving 17 routes, from October 2011.

By summer 2012 they intend to grow to four aircraft and 26 routes which will bring up to 2 million passengers via 260 weekly flights.

Ryanair announced that they are investing £175 million in their new base at Manchester Airport, which will create 2000 jobs.

The initial routes are; Alicante, Barcelona, Bremen, Brussels, Dublin, Faro, Frankfurt, Katowice, Madrid, Malaga, Memmingen, Milan, Oslo, Paris, Rome, Rzeszow and Tenerife.
