New Rotary president seeks new members

The new Rotary year commenced on July 1st, and as she begins her reign as Club President for the next twelve months, local resident Marianne Martyn, has many ambitions for the Club during her term in office.

Being only the second female President of the Wilmslow Dean Rotary Club, Marianne is determined to attract new members and, in particular, she would like those of the fairer sex to consider joining the ranks.

President Marianne said: "Membership is of the utmost importance, if we haven't got the members, we lack the man or woman power to achieve the good things we Rotarians do for the community - locally, nationally and internationally. We are keen to constantly recruit new members who live and or work in and around the Wilmslow area, particularly women, thereby bringing in fresh blood with new ideas and enthusiasm. Our ethos is a blend of fun and friendship with a purpose."

"We meet at 6.45pm each Tuesday evening at The Deanwater Hotel which is a prestigious venue in an ideal location for potential new members to come and discuss the benefits of Rotary membership, learn more about our wide range of activities for all age groups and abilities from skiing to caravanning in Europe and beyond, as well as what Rotary is and does throughout the world" said Marianne.

In addition to their many successful fundraising and support ventures for local worthy causes, the Rotary Club is best known for the very popular 'Wilmslow Scarecrow Festival' which is organised jointly with The Wilmslow Business Group as an attraction to encourage more people to visit Wilmslow and shop locally.
