Opticians raise cash for clear vision

James Doyle Opticians held a Charity Cocktail Reception on Friday, 24th June, which was a lovely evening and a great success with the prize draw raising £829 on the night.

The money raised will go to the OneSight charity which the Wilmslow practice has been supporting for the last 15 years by recycling unwanted glasses.

Owner Graham Doyle told me "We wanted to give more. I initially heard of this charity from our Chanel account manager who is one of their volunteers. OneSight recycle old glasses but also deliver optical and medical care where it is needed."

Customers, neighbouring businesses, friends and suppliers were invited to the cocktail reception where they were treated to a fashion show by sixth formers from Withington Girls School and Wilmslow High School. This featured the latest styles of Chanel sunglasses and optical frames and the models were dressed to impress in Carven, courtesy of Jo Davies of neighbouring shop BlackWhiteDenim.

Graham's daughter Alessia Doyle, 12, was joined by sixth form student Zara Tso to entertain the guests with their sensational singing.

Graham added "I am lucky to have great neighbouring shops in Wilmslow, we are always ready to help and recommend each other.

"My team and I are currently planning our next event!"
