Cash stolen in Wilmslow club robbery

Masked raiders have stolen cash during a terrifying robbery at a social club in Wilmslow.

The incident happened at Morley Green Social Club on Mobberley Road just after midnight on Wednesday, 8th June.

After locking up, the bar manager had just got into his car when two masked men smashed the car window with a hammer and demanded that he re-open the club.

The 61-year-old was then forced out of the car and into he club, where the offenders demanded cash. One of the offenders, who was armed with a claw hammer, hit the victim across the body.

The men stole money from the till before running off and getting into a black Seat Leon, which was found abandoned in the road by Mobberley Golf Club shortly afterwards.

Detective Constable Charlotte Astbury said: "Fortunately the victim was not seriously injured however he was understandably terrified by this incident. I am keen to speak to anyone that may have information about the men responsible, or who may have seen the car, which was stolen from the Trafford area of Greater Manchester on 4 June."

The first offender was described as 5ft 6in tall, of slim build, aged late teens to mid 20's. He was wearing black clothing and a black woollen mask covering his face.

The second offender was described as 5ft 6in tall aged early to mid 20's and armed with a claw hammer. He was wearing black clothing and a black woollen mask covering his face.
