The Arts Team at Wilmslow High School are preparing to delight students, staff, friends and visitors of the school when they host 'An Evening with the Arts' on Tuesday 28th June.

This ambitious event involves an exhibition, a Shakesperian inspired production and the grand finale of the 2011 Battle of the Bands competition.

The evening will commence at 5.00pm when the doors are opened to the Courtyard Art Exhibition, where the work of students at each Key Stage will be displayed. Refreshments and live entertainment, courtesy of the string ensemble and dance groups, will be provided whilst guests peruse the exhibition.

Visitors will then be treated to a production of The Tempest by the Year 10 cast, followed by the climax of the evening as bands compete in the final of the rock event of the year.

Christine Boden, Curriculum Team Leader for Arts, said "An Evening with the Arts is just one of many occasions that provide visual and performing arts students, from all age ranges and abilities, with the opportunity to share and celebrate their achievements.

"The diverse programme of events organised for Tuesday 28th June promises to delight and WHS is looking forward to opening its doors to all visitors and audience members."
