Road closure: Adlington Road

Adlington Road in Wilmslow will be closed to through traffic between number 68 and its junction with Hollies Lane, to enable emergency sewer repairs to be completed by Ansa Utilities.

This closure will come into force on Tuesday, 31st May, for a maximum of 21 days but it is anticipated that these restrictions will be in place for 4 days until Friday, 3rd June.

The alternative route will be via the B5358, C462 Dean Row Road, A34 Dean Row Link, A34 Handforth Bypass, A538 Prestbury Road, A5102 Hough Lane, A5102 Adlington Road and vice versa.

Why was this work not done last year when Adlington Road was closed for 9 months for bridge work? I guess, as always, it was a distinct lack of communication between the authority and service Companies.

'Emergency sewer repairs' kind of implies a more recent problem.
Perhaps the service companies should employ a reliable clairvoyant - let's get ALL the annual repairs done between, say, November 14th and 27th, every year.
