Paul Whiteley wins Wilmslow Dean Row election

Paul Whiteley Election Headshot II

Conservative candidate Paul Whiteley has won the Wilmslow Dean Row ward election with 68.5% of the vote.

Councillor Whiteley received 1072 votes, compared with Labour candidate Benjamin Butterworth who received 262 votes and Liberal Democratic candidate Mark Toombs who received 229 votes.

Turnout at the local election was 46.8% and 14 votes were rejected.

Paul Whiteley has been a Dean Row Councillor since 1998 and he forged his link with the ward in the 23 years he lived and operated his business here.

Speaking after the result was announced, he told me "I'm glad that I can continue to represent the ward and be part of Cheshire East Council because I feel we have still got an awful lot of possibilities to improve things locally.

"The support I have been given by the Conservative team has been the bedrock of this successful campaign and that support is something I am very grateful for.

"I am now to take down all the posters I spent days putting up and get back to normal. It's on with the job I wanted to do."
