Players turn back the clock to the 1940's

Guild Players 40s Night

Wilmslow Guild Players' next production is a special one-off show celebrating life in the 1940s with music, sketches, laughter and a wartime sing-along. The event is on Saturday 14th May at 7.30pm at Wilmslow Guild on Bourne Street.

"This is a special end-of-season production which will involve almost all the company," show director Marion Dean explained. "It is intended to be a fun evening of period songs, comedy sketches, nostalgia and an audience sing-along with an interval for refreshments and socialising."

"The Guild Players have many individual talents which are not always apparent in our more serious productions," continued Marion, "so here is an opportunity for everyone to have a go. On three previous occasions we have put on similar shows, but with the theme of Victorian Music Hall. These have been enormously popular with all tickets sold and several disappointed people.

"This year we decided to shift the spotlight to the years of the Second World War, which gives us ample scope for all kinds of acts. Come along and join us for what we hope will be a splendid evening's entertainment."

"Tickets are already selling fast so don't leave it until the last minute," said ticket secretary Bill Beton. "When we've done this sort of show before we've been absolutely packed out, which has led to a fantastic atmosphere."

Tickets cost £7, which includes a programme and refreshments. Tickets can be booked by calling 01625 520126, by email or from the Wilmslow Guild office on Bourne Street.
