Wilmslow's very own Strictly Come Dancing took place at the Dance Fever Studios on Saturday, 12th March.

Following a month of rehearsals five couples battled it out on the dance floor, each performing two dances in an attempt to impress the judges.

The evening was hosted by Michelle Fotherby-O'Brien from Dance Fever, who has years of experience teaching dance and helped to put the routines together.

The winners on the night were Adam Antoszkiw from mosshaselhurst solicitors and his partner Kat Hassell, a student from Wilmslow High School and a dancer at Dance Fever Studios. Joanne Griffiths, Volunteer Managing Director at JJ's Sensory Play Centre, and her partner Robert came second.

Adam Antoszkiw said "It was great to see so many people come to support this good cause and it was a great experience.

"There was a lot of practicing involved and a few nerves before the show but it was a fantastic night and I think I can say everyone had a good time.

"It was fantastic to win but I was grateful just to get through it without falling over. I am also delighted for Kat my dance partner who is a terrific dancer and has had to try and make me into something that resembles a dancer and I think it is just reward for her having to put up with me for the past month."

Joanne Griffiths added "Saturday night was fabulous, Robert and I came second and both of us was amazed and really pleased. We didn't expect to be in the top two.

"The evening was a great night for both the dancers and the audience, I so enjoyed taking part and I am trying to accommodate dancing further because of it. I would definitely do it again."

The event, which was organised by Wilmslow Business Group and Dance Fever, raised £1000 for the Genesis Breast Cancer Prevention Appeal.
