The sun was shining, the chickens were laying and the children were ready to explore.
Incredible Edible Wilmslow and staff from The Artisan Meat Company made it a Pancake Day to remember for a group of toddlers by inviting them to hunt for eggs, feed the chickens and then take some eggs home to make some tasty pancakes.
Some of the eggs were still warm when the children found them and the chickens seemed to enjoy the company!
The children were happy to feed the chickens bread and apples and the aim of getting the children to understand where the eggs come from was definitely a success.
Actually, the mums learnt as much as the children with a series of testing questions about egg fertilization, shape size and colour … it’s a good thing that the staff know their stuff!
