A Wilmslow photographer has won this week's Telegraph travel photo competition and her winning photo appears on the back page of Saturday's travel section.

Annabelle Taylor, 36, has won a Coolpix S8000 camera for her image of a woman selling bananas at a market in Granada, Nicaragua which was taken in May 2008.

She said "I entered this photo, over and above some of my other images, as I realised the entry would have to be landscape orientation, going by previous entries and it stipulated in the competition rules that the photographer had to have the subject's permission to have taken the photo, which I did for this particular shot.

"Also looking through previous winning images, this photo was a little different and I hoped it would catch the judge's eye."

Annabelle launched her company Belle Photo in 2008 to enable her to pursue a lifelong dream of becoming a travel photographer. Prior to this she was an IT trainer at the Home Office.

An expedition to the rainforests of Costa Rica and beyond, fuelled her passion for travel photography and over the years she has travelled to many corners of the globe. Be it strolling the streets of New York City or the beaches along the Indian Ocean, Annabelle is in her element when she is out in the fresh air with her camera in hand.

Speaking about the competition, Annabelle said "I am over the moon at winning round 141 of the Telegraph's Big Picture photography competition. I particularly love the colours and composition of this photo and to me it conjures up a typical scene in the life of the wonderful people of Nicaragua."
